12 great reasons to work for Sandwell Children’s Trust

Our Workforce Strategy

When we began shaping our workforce strategy — the way we would set ourselves apart from other organisations — we knew we wanted to do something different. Our aim was to create a platform that offers an exceptional experience to everyone who joins us. Something that can grow as we mature, adapt to the changing demands of social care and, most importantly, something we can all be proud of.

Starting with a Conversation

Like everything in Sandwell, it started with listening. We asked our colleagues what mattered to them. What were their aspirations and ambitions? What would help make Sandwell the place to be — a place where people flourish?

We gathered all the feedback, explored what the very best organisations across all sectors were doing, and from this the 12 Reasons to Work in Sandwell Children’s Trust were created.

A Dynamic and Evolving Framework

Like all effective strategies, the 12 Reasons framework is dynamic. It enables us to think creatively about how we recognise, reward and support our staff. It gives us the flexibility to respond to change while staying true to our purpose and values.
