RiVR hits the news!

We have recently been visited by Lucy Kapasi and Jack Jones from ITV Central News.  They visited the Trust to film some of our staff along with Professor Tarsem Cooner (University of Birmingham) for a news article about the RiVR Training.

The RiVR training is based on original research by the University of Birmingham about relationship based practice. The findings of the research fitted perfectly with the ST*R Practice Model and what we are trying to achieve here in the Trust.  The University of Birmingham, our social workers, practitioners, managers and young people co-produced the RiVR Training.

The video was aired on Thursday 26 September and for those of you who saw it I'm sure you will agree that it helps puts us firmly on the map when it comes to innovation.

Lucy Kapasi is a journalist who has regularly written articles in relation to practice.  She was interested in hearing about how the training impacted on our work as Social Workers and Practitioners and said she very much sees this as a way of showcasing social work in a positive light.

A massive thank you to Aman Basi (Practice Development Manager) for organising the event with ITV Central News, and to Jemima Ali, Andrew Szczepanski (Children we Care for Service), and Paul Wareham (Fostering Service) for agreeing to be interviewed and filmed about the training and the project.

You can view the 3 minute video on ITV.com
