Care Leavers Awards Evening

	Wednesday 26th October 2022 WS10 Conference & Banqueting Centre, 85 Holyhead Road, Wednesbury WS10 7PA An evening to remember, food, disco, live performances and launch of the video for housing and awards ceremony.

We are pleased to announce that our Care Leavers Awards evening is being held on Wednesday 26th October 2022.

As corporate parents, organisations and businesses we have a collective duty and corporate social responsibility to prepare these young people for adulthood, to raise aspirations and celebrate their achievements. We therefore recognise our care leavers and their successes by hosting this celebration event.

We feel it is important to recognise achievements that are not only academic.

Our young people have therefore chosen the below categories for the event:

Education Star This award recognises outstanding achievements in an individual’s own learning, whether this be through, college, higher education or volunteering programmes. Employment Star This award acknowledges commitments made to apprenticeships, work experience and/or employment, a young person who has excelled in the world of work and has made significant achievements to their own lives and others. Sports Hero This award recognises young people who are involved in competitive and/or non-competitive, individual or team sports. You may wish to nominate a young person who has proved to be an outstanding team player or has achieved great things through sport and physical activity. It may be that the young person has overcome personal challenges through a passion for sport. Independent Star This award recognises those young people ready for independence or who have successfully moved on to independence either with engaging in support or making positive changes. Life Changer This award recognises those young people who despite the most difficult of circumstances have overcome or are overcoming barriers and are showing resilience towards their path to a positive future and outcome. Positive Role Model This award recognises young people who have set a good example to others demonstrating peer support and positive and constructive input towards service available to care leavers. Inspiration Award This award recognises that in the face of adversity the young person has overcome health issues or other major challenges that have impacted upon their health. Community Champion This award recognises contributions made to the local community. This could include supporting or leading groups, charity work, helping and doing good for others, volunteering time and any other areas where a young person is making a positive contribution to the community. Creative Arts Award This Award recognises those young people who have made outstanding contribution and excelled in drama, music, dance and other forms of performing arts.   Deadline for nominations is Friday 7th October 2022
